Pseudanophthalmus, from Ancient Greek ψεύδος (pseúdos), meaning "false", ἀν- (an-), meaning "lack", and ὀφθαλμός (ophthalmós), meaning "eye", is a genus of carabid beetle. Over 200 species have been described in the caves of ten states of the eastern United States.
