Sushil Kumar Sen (Bengali: সুশীল কুমার সেন; 1892 – 3 May 1915) was a Bengali revolutionary from Shrihatta (now Sylhet) in the undivided Bengal, associated with the early nationalist movement and secret revolutionary societies. A student of the Bengal National College under Aurobindo Ghosh, he gained fame in 1907 for striking a British sergeant during a protest, for which he was publicly flogged. The incident made him a national symbol of defiance. Sen later joined underground activities and was involved in the assassination plot of Magistrate Douglas Kingsford and police officer Suresh Mukherjee. He died from gunshot wounds sustained during the Pragpur political dacoity in 1915, urging his comrades to escape while he succumbed to his injuries.
