1940 Cochinchina uprising
Cochinchina uprising (Nam Kỳ khởi nghĩa) was an armed peasant uprising against the French colonialists by the Vietnamese in the south (at that time known as Cochinchina) in 1940, led by the Indochinese Communist Party.
