The primary election took place on Tuesday May 3, 2022. The Republican Party had held a House majority since 2011.
The elections for Indiana United States Senator, Indiana's nine congressional districts, and the Indiana Senate were also held on this date.
Democrats gained one seat, decreasing the Republican supermajority to 70 out of 100 seats.
