The Battle of Asal Uttar (Hindi : असल उत्तर , Punjabi: ਅਸਲ ਉੱਤਰ), also known as the Battle of Khemkaran, was major tank battle fought during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965. It was one of the biggest tank battles fought after the Second World War. The battle mostly fought in Kasur-Khemkaran axes. The battle consists of different battles and skirmishes, fought throughout the period of 7 September to 23 September during 1965 war.
