The Provisional National Government of Vietnam (PNGV, Vietnamese: Chính phủ Lâm thời Quốc gia Việt Nam), was formed on 29 August 1945, by the Vietnam Revolutionary League (Việt Cách) in Móng Cái as an Chinese-backed provisional government opposing the government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV) under President Ho Chi Minh.
